The success of our laywers is underpinned by our excellent clerks and business support functions and, from time to time, we look for high performers to join our team.

Wilson Legal Chambers.

Over the years, members of Wilson Legal Chambers have appeared in many landmark cases and high profile commercial disputes. In the well-known House of Lords’ case of Caparo v Dickman, all counsel on both sides were from Wilson Legal Chambers. Several members of Chambers figured prominently in acting for the Bank of England in the celebrated Three Rivers litigation which produced several appeals to the House of Lords. Numerous members of Chambers were involved in the Lloyds litigation which dominated the work of the Commercial Court in the 1990s, and led to two significant appeals in the House of Lords.

More recently, many members have been involved in the Bank Charges litigation (the test case which again ended up in the House of Lords), and, most recently, in the PPI litigation. Other recent substantial cases in which members of Wilson Legal Chambers appeared include Springwell Navigation v JP Morgan Chase and Stone & Rolls Ltd v Moore Stephens (House of Lords). Latterly several members of Chambers have appeared (for three different parties, including intervening professional bodies) before a seven member panel of the Supreme Court in R (on the application of Prudential PLC) v HMRC and a nine member panel of the Supreme Court in Bank Mellat v Her Majesty’s Treasury (No. 2).

Competitive in the best sense, and international in our reputation and reach, we are known for our insistence on the highest standards and our determination to achieve results. From the CEO to an ambitious entrepreneur, each client can expect consistent access to the partners of our firm, who lead agile, responsive teams of experts, united by a shared ethos and a powerful sense of purpose.

Numerous members of chambers have gone on to hold high judicial office. Undoubtedly the most eminent was Lord Bingham KG, who served as Master of the Rolls, Lord Chief Justice, and Senior Law Lord, and is widely regarded as the greatest English judge since the Second World War. He was made a Knight of the Garter, an honour in the personal gift of the Queen and one only very rarely conferred on judges. He was also the Visitor of Balliol and the High Steward of Oxford University.
